Debra Lehman was
born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. When she was playing with crayons as a
child, she didn’t dream that someday people would actually enjoy looking at her work.
She is the mother of two and the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, which
she calls, “the major joys of my life.”
Debra, or Debbie, as she prefers to be known, has no formal art training and that
brings to her work a freedom and broadness of scope that she would not be able to achieve were she more disciplined by preconceived
notions of form and style.
Debbie prefers not to name her pieces.
She feels that all viewers should be totally free
to see in the pictures whatever they feel,
without being pre-conditioned by a title or label. She also creates one-of-a-kind pictures specifically tailored to her clients' needs.
She started working with pastels many years ago and delights in experimentation,
often adding other media to enhance her designs.
At present, her work is being sold by an Interior Decorator, "A Touch of Grace."
An instructor of ceramics for many years, Debbie has also taught the use of air
brushing and pastels with ceramic creations.
